Mac’s Medicine Mart first opened in October 1989 by Phillip and Barbara McManus. Since that time, Mac’s has grown into the areas best one stop shop for pharmacy, medical equipment, vitamins & supplements, and health food store. Most recently voted Kingsport Times News #1 Best in each category in 2018. Although our staff and building may have grown and changed through the years, our mission has always remained the same, we are simply here to help people.
Mac’s Medicine Mart employees 2 full time staff pharmacists - Dr. Barry Walton, D.Ph., and Dr. April Stout, Pharm.D.. Mac’s has never stood on ceremony and has taken pride in calling on our patients as we would our family and friends. At Mac’s, our pharmacists, simply Barry and April, are always here to help you in any way they can.
Our pharmacy has contracts with most insurance companies and we are a Preferred Pharmacy with many of the major insurance plans, such as Blue Cross Blue Shield.
We are proud of our reputation of not only taking care of our patients but also having hard to find items. We carry supplies for wound care, ostomy, in home care and medical equipment. Not only do we carry hard to find medications and supplies but we also carry vaccinations. One of our pharmacists are always on site to give you your vaccination in a timely manner. Mac’s is your Vaccination Destination.
Barry is a Kingsport native, having gone through the Kingsport City School system. While attending Dobyns-Bennett High School (Class of 1979), Barry began working at Berry’s Pharmacy. He saw how a pharmacy could be the center of the community and has made many life long friends. After graduating in ???? from Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama, he returned to Kingsport to help care for his family, friends, and neighbors.
